We extend our deepest condolences to the people of Japan. There is no word in the world that can convey the heartbreak of the images we are exposed to daily. As many have reported, the gaman (endurance) of the Japanese people have long been admired and respected by all cultures. There is little doubt that, with gaman, the Japanese people and nation will recover in time.
We would like to take a moment to Celebrate Black History Month and acknowledge all African-Americans who have contributed so much not only to medicine, but to this nation as a whole.
While we take our heritage for granted at times…we also take for granted the heritage of others.
Take time to reflect upon all races, all religions, all peoples and cultures and realize how blessed we are to be multi-cultural.
To all health professionals nationwide and worldwide, we say thank you for your contributions.
